Saturday, April 18, 2026 is the sixth annual Ryan Thompson COPS & BOBBERS youth fishing event at Ryan Thompson Memorial Park east of Ellensburg. Each year, this event brings kids from across Kittitas County together with law enforcement officers for a day of fishing, fun, and community.
COPS & BOBBERS is held in honor of Kittitas County Deputy Ryan Thompson and reflects one of the best things about this county: kids, families, community members, and law enforcement coming together in a positive way.
Due to fish and wildlife regulations this event is limited to kids age 14 and under. Register ahead for your kids’ hour-long fishing slot here:

This event is made possible entirely through donations and volunteer support. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Sgt. Nate Foster at 509-962-7525. Donations may be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office and made payable to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office Association.
